A process of creating an acrylic painting by Kasia B.Turajczyk

It is an old video I took while creating a painting about a magnolia tree from the garden. It happened in the beautiful garden of Lyalls Cottage in Dunchideock. The whole place was like a magical creation by a master creator. That is art per excellent.

Is nude art not allowed in Cornish galleries?

Image
Perfect Beauty, water colourd, framed. For sale: GBP 1200  Is it a legitimate question if nude is acceptable in South-West England galleries or not?  Based on my experience, it is. It is acceptable by the gallery owners but not by the visitors or other artists who expose their paintings in the gallery. Suppose you think that the nude is something just natural and normal and that most of the pictures and sculptures from the period between Rennassaince and Barok are full or naked bodies. In that case, you will be surprised to discover that nude is unacceptable in the XXI century in galleries in Cornwall.  As In A Dream; oil on canvas; framed,  I will tell you a short about my two nude paintings in one of the galleries in North Cornwall. The owner liked them, and he exhibited both of them for a while. Then one day, when I dropped by to see if maybe he sold one of my paintings (I also had two abstract paintings and 4 water colours pictures), he told me that he had to put...

Mémoires from the East part of Scotland - Forgotten Valley.

Image
Title: still needs to decide.  Mémoires from the East part of #Scotland . A beautiful valley - forgotten by humans. Just an old chapel and a dying graveyard. Hmm... can actually a place who supposed to bury dead bodies be dying? Philosophical question.  I wanted to achieve a semi-abstract effect. Some parts of the work had to be as representative of the style as possible in not typical realistic painting. And some features had to be expressive-abstraction.  I am happy with the result. I will make another painting with the same image but less figurative and paint it on a bigger canvas with oil.  This painting is for sale, and the price could be discussed with the person who wants it.  It is a middle-size painting: 62cm x 46 cm (24x19)

When you stand for nothing, you fall for everything.

I am satisfied with the result. Drawing such a large piece on significant paper costs a lot of time, energy, and determination. The size of it is 42 x 63 cm, and it is to buy for 1000 pounds. Per hour, I will probably make 5 pounds - excluded material. How can you survive as a creative person in the world of cheap, printed and copied...

Portraits with a touch of imagination.

Image
Portraits with a touch of surreal, imaginative aspects, sometimes dark, funny or light and always mysterious. It is the way a painted image of somebody should be created. We all have secret spots in our souls, aren't we? Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. Perhaps just an exact image as in the photograph should satisfy a few and be accepted as good enough. Maybe for some. But not for me. I want to paint the person in their imaginary cosmos, and I love the impenetrable story around the character. Here are some examples of portraits in different styles: super realistic, imaginative, surreal, fantastic. You, as a customer, have the last word; however, I will try to persuade you to allow me to surprise you with my imagination.

The beautiful, the sacred and the contemporary art

Image
It is an open secret that contemporary art has lost its connection to beauty and the sacred. Another very important aspect is the craftsmanship. A huge percentage of contemporary art colleges' students and contemporary artists can’t draw or paint. The only thing that they are able to do is to express their own ideas or feelings. There is no beauty in most of the products of art and the sacred element is missing. Sassetta (Stefano di Giovanni) (Italian, Sienese, active by 1423 Annunciation by Simone Martini and Lippo Memmi, around 1333 - detail On the other hand XX/XXI century art was/is an act of expression, so perhaps I am wrong. Maybe contemporary art is the expression of contemporary people who have lost any connection with the beautiful and the sacred?! Maybe they may not need these aesthetical and ethical sentiments from the past. Mass culture, popular culture, deception, profit, popularity and selfishness. The flow of information is so overwhelming - we don't ...
