When pigs can fly

Image
My new work from the Cats&Co series. Sub-series is about Cats&China.  € 540 / GBP 480 Size: 41 cm x 31 cm I borrowed the motive from an ancient Chinese print. Unfortunately, I don't know the artist. I assume the painting illustrated the tale about the emperor and the little nightingale. I preferred the piglet. Pigs are intelligent animals and funny. Using acrylics, gouache, coloured pencils and pens. The cats are adorable, and the piglet is cute.  The painting is for sale. There is also a possibility to order a print of the original image. Please, contact me if you want to buy my work or the print.

Art and life; discipline, routine and devotion

Image
Devotion                 discipline discipline routine The most important thing: devotion, discipline, and routine - to become a well-known artist. Or maybe an artist who will make enough money from selling her/his art every month and survive the harsh reality of our life.  It is about working every day, making small steps to go where you want to be. The process is more important than the end achievement. And be active on social media with regularity - it is also a necessity, and it is not easy for me to be consequent in posting on Instagram, Facebook, X and all these other social media.   The questions are, for me and a lot of other artists.   What steps are necessary to become a well-known artist?  How can one survive as an artist in the harsh reality of life?  How can one stay consistent in posting on social media? What steps are necessary to become a well-known artist?  I am working on it; I will let you...

When you stand for nothing, you fall for everything.

When you stand for nothing, you fall for everything.                                                                   Drawing; Size A1; price: ask, the Year 2017- 2022  Update from 2022, December .  Finally, in August 2022, I finished the drawing based on my dream long ago. I am satisfied with the result. Drawing such a large piece on significant paper costs a lot of time, energy, and determination. The size of it is 42 x 63 cm, and it is to buy for 1000 pounds. Per hour, I will probably make 5 pounds - excluded material. How can you survive as a creative person in the world of cheap, printed and copied...

Portraits with a touch of imagination.

Image
Portraits with a touch of surreal, imaginative aspects, sometimes dark, funny or light and always mysterious. It is the way a painted image of somebody should be created. We all have secret spots in our souls, aren't we? Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. Perhaps just an exact image as in the photograph should satisfy a few and be accepted as good enough. Maybe for some. But not for me. I want to paint the person in their imaginary cosmos, and I love the impenetrable story around the character. Here are some examples of portraits in different styles: super realistic, imaginative, surreal, fantastic. You, as a customer, have the last word; however, I will try to persuade you to allow me to surprise you with my imagination.

The escape from the loony bin of life!

Image
My devotion to Pinocchio is not a secret. I have always loved the character from the book by Carlo Collodi, I loved Disney's Pinocchio, I love the Russian Pinocchio and I love my two Pinocchio toys. They have travelled with me around the world; they are very old and wise. Made in Russia, they came from Russia to me. They are old, probably 50 and 45 years old. They are aging, one of them has lost his hair, and unfortunately also his nose. Since I was introduced to Pinocchio's character I have always been painting and drawing this wonderful marionette.  Pinocchio willy-nilly was becoming a hero of my work. My first portrait of Pinocchio I made in oil on canvas;  very expressionistic, with fat, large strokes of brush paint.  It is kind of a dark painting. The next was lighter, brighter, finer, with spell of impressionistic touch.  The series Return of Peter Pan also has a Pinocchio theme. Two brothers sitting close to each other and talking. Pinocchio's Br...

The Polish Fairy Tale

Image
“When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than any talent for abstract, positive thinking. ”  ― Albert Einstein The Polish Fairy Tale - New painting from my new series Phantasmagoria It is a fairy tale about a Caterina di Barche, a daughter of a Polish prince from the Piast dynasty and a Tuscans princess from Siena. Once upon a time at the lands of the kingdom of Malopolska lived a princess named Caterina di Barche. The locals called her Delight…
